Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Lift the vehicle by the longitudinal member

Remove the axle shaft (8)

Unlock the locking plate (5) and remove the grooved nuts (6) and (4)

Remove the stop washer (3)

Remove the wheel hub (2)

 The inner race of the inner bearing will get out together with the wheel hub (2).

Remove the inner race of the inner bearing and the radial shaft sealing ring from the wheel hub (2)



Check

Check the wear the friction surface of the race ring (1)

In case of damages, wear or tread grooves on the friction surface:



Replace the race ring (1).

Install

Install the race in the axle

Only in case of replacement.

Install the inner race of the inner bearing and radial shaft sealing ring in the wheel hub (2)

 Use a new radial shaft sealing ring.

 Lubricate previously the inner bearing with lubricating grease.

Grease, DB supply specification 6804 - Class 267.0

Install the wheel hub (2)

 Installation:
Install with care:
to not damage the radial shaft sealing ring or the thread of the axle.

 Lubricate with oil the contact surfaces of the race and of the radial shaft sealing ring.

Install the internal race of external bearing

 Lubricate previously the outer bearing with lubricating grease.

Install the stop washer (3)

Install the inner slotted nut (4), the locking plate (5), and the outer slotted nut (6)

Adjust the end play bearings wheel hub

Lock the grooved nuts (4) and (6)

 Fold the lock plate latches, at least, at one slot of each slotted nut.
