| Important information | Recommended measurements must be noted, such as personal safety, accidents, and environmental protection need to be prevented. | |
1 | Position the vehicle on a good place so that you can work safely. Lock the rear wheels to avoid it accidentally moves. | Do it if you do not have a hoist or appropriated place to check the vehicle floor.
2 | Turn the main key off. | Always read out the instructions about the electronic vehicles.
3 | When the vehicle is on the ground, loose lightly rear axle wheels without removing them, if you do not need to use a hoist. | If you use a hoist to do that, it is not necessary to remove the wheels to remove the stabilizer, however, it makes much easier.
Danger! | Be careful when lifting the vehicle. | Risk of serious accidents.
Do not lift the vehicle by its central axles.
In this kind of work it is needed to support the vehicle by spars to be able to move lightly the rear axle. As protection measures, do not loose the shock absorbers (3) on the lower part before locking the vehicle by spars.
4 | Lock the vehicles by spars so that the rear axle can be handled.
5 | If necessary, remove the wheels.
6 | Bring down the rear axle equally on both sides, so that the stabilizer remains without pressure to allow the complete removal of stabilizer bar (1.1) with side rods (4). | The stabilizer bar can be removed and posteriorly it can be disassembled in a place with help of a vise with protected mordants. It can also be dismantled piece by piece in the vehicle.
7 | Remove the nuts and screws with flange (9) on the lower articulations of stabilizer bar ends (1.2) on both sides (1). | Always observe the screws and nuts positions in the components before removing, so that they are installed in the same position.
8 | Remove the nuts and screws with flange (10) on the upper articulations on the side rods supports (11) and remove the complete stabilizer bar (1.1) with side rods (4).
9 | Fix the stabilizer bar and remove the screws and nuts with flange (6) and bipartite limiters clamps (5). | Vise must have the mordants properly protected. Contact surface of bar with bearings bushes must always be preserved and never use it for fixation.
10 | Remove the screws and nuts with flange (7) and, by side rods, remove the bipartite bearings (8). Remove the elastic bushes (8.1) (mountings) from its housing on the bipartite bearings. | In this case the stabilizer bar will be with all removed components.
11 | Remove the adapters (15) on the stabilizer bar ends (1.2) elastic bushes (13). | Use an appropriated device or vise with protected mordants.
12 | Remove the elastic bushes (13) of support (11) which is fixed on the spar. | If necessary, remove the spar support (11).
Use an appropriated device or vise to remove it.
| Check | ||
13 | Check all joints components of side rods and stabilizer bar. | Replace: Side rods (4) which are wear or deformed.
Damaged or deformed stabilizer bar (1) on the bearings.
Nuts or screws with flange (6), (7) e (9) of articulations, bearings and clamps if necessary.
Complete elastic bushes (13), of supports articulation (11) and adapters (15) in the bar ends (1.2).
Bipartite bushes (8.1) of bipartite bearings (8).
Bipartite supports (11) and bearings (8) if necessary.
If necessary, replace the side arms supports (11) on the spars. Apply a good painting before assembly.
14 | Check the beveled parts (15) on the bar ends. Remove the problem of tension concentration on the housings of the bushes on the supports (11) adapters (12).
| Install | ||
15 | Install new elastic bushes (13) on the supports (11) adapters (12) with metal bushes (14) which are already integrated. | Metal bushes (14) are integral part of elastic bushes (13) forming just one piece.
Apply a light showed layer to facilitate assembly. Only the minimum necessary.
Use an appropriated device, vise in the case of supports (11) have been removed or vise with protected mordants.
Note that the bushes are correctly housed and centralized. Clean any remaining vaseline.
In the event of having removed the supports (11) to assemble new bushes, install them on the spars.
16 | Assemble new bushes (13) on the ends (1.2) adapters (15) of the stabilizer bar (1.2). | Apply a light showed layer to facilitate assembly. Only the minimum necessary. Use an appropriated device or vise with protected mordants. Note that the bushes are correctly housed and centralized. Clean any remaining vaseline.
17 | Assemble new bipartite elastic bushes (8.1) on the bipartite bearings (8). | Apply a light layer of vaseline inside the bush on the sliding surface with bar. At the external part they must be assembled dry. Note the correct fitting of bushes on the bipartite bearings.
18 | Install the bipartite bearings (8) on the bar and side rods (4) on both sides and fix them with screws and nuts with flange (7). | Tighten the nuts and screws (7) with appropriated torque. After that, bar must turn even some difficult
19 | Assemble the bipartite clamps (5) inside the stabilizer bar on both sides and fix them with screws and nuts with flange (6) without pressing them. | Tighten the nuts and screws (6) until the backrest, because clamps must posteriorly be regulated with a bar totally assembled.
20 | Assemble the formed joint by stabilizer bar (1.1) and side rods (4) on the rear axle support (2) on lower articulation. Install the screws and nuts with flange (9). | Control the rear axle until the stabilizer does not exert pressure and install the screws and nuts with flange (10) on upper articulation in supports (11). before applying the final tightening.
Tighten the screws and nuts (10) on the upper articulations in the supports (11).
Tighten the screws and nuts (9) on the lower articulations in the rear axle supports (2).
21 | Sometimes move the axle with rear stabilizer totally assembled in vehicle for a complete housing. | Shore up the bipartite limiters clamps (5) from the center outside and position them on the slope which is shown at the left figure.
22 | Once regulated the clamps (5) apply the final tightening on the screws and nuts with flange (6).
23 | Install the wheels and tighten lightly them in the event of they have been removed.
Danger! | Be careful when lifting the vehicle. | Risk of serious accidents.
24 | Bring down the vehicle and tighten wheels. | In the event of they have been removed. Wheels must be retighten when vehicle is empty after having been run-in approximately 500 to 1000 km.
25 | Fix the shock absorbers (3) on the rear axle.
26 | Connect the battery negative terminal or turn main key on. | For vehicles equipped with electronic engines, always observe information about care of vehicle electronics.
27 | Perform a test drive to check the vehicle behavior when turning on the corner. |
