1 | Disconnect the battery's negative wire or shutdown the general switch. | Unfasten the longitudinal girder cable bolt avoiding to unfasten it at the terminals. | |
2 | Tilt the engine hood cover. | In the vehicles with chassis: 386.0; 386.3; 388.0 | |
3 | Open the engine rear cover. | In the vehicles (buses): 664.01; 664.1; 664.2 | |
4 | Drain the cooling system. | Collect the liquid and eliminate it in an environment friendly manner. | |

5 | Remove the hose (1) from the thermostat valve cap (2). | Check the hose (1) and the fastening clamp, if necessary replace them. | |
6 | Unfasten the bolts (3) and remove the thermostat valve cap (2). | | |
7 | Remove the sealing rings (4) and the valves (5). | During the installation, replace the sealing rings (4), and position the valves (5) with the ventilation orifice facing the highest part (see arrow). | |

8 | Check the opening of the thermostat valve. | If it does not correspond to the prescribed measures, replace it. | |
9 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
10 | Reestablish the anti-corrosion/antifreeze products proportion. | Anti-corrosion and antifreeze liquids proportion. | |
