Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding while working on AdBlue pipes and components connected to them. Risk of injury on skin and eyes at contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from swallowing AdBlue | Only catch AdBlue in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas after-treatment system after relieving the pressure.
| Indications for applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Switch-off the ignition
2 | Open the engine access cover
3 | Connect the STAR DIAGNOSIS
4 | Install the testing connection (4) in the compressed air inlet of the dosage unit (1) | Only if a testing connection (4) is not yet installed. The test connection (4) can remain in the vehicle.
5 | Remove the compressed air pressure sensor (7)
6 | Fill the orifice (6) with water | Fill water, until overflowing the orifice (6).
7 | Install the compressed air pressure sensor (7)
8 | Install the rinse hose (3) in the testing connection (4) | A measuring hose can be used as rinse hose (3).
Connect the rinse hose (3) only after finishing the flow process of the SCR system (about 5 min.).
| |||
9 | Remove the tire valve at the rinsing hose (3)
10 | Add water to the rinsing hose (3) until forming a 4 cm water column (A) | Hold the rinsing hose (3) upwards, so the water flows in direction of the testing connection (4).
11 | Install the tire valve in the rinsing hose (3)
12 | Connect the compressed air pistol (2) to the rinsing hose (3)
13 | Rinse the metering unit (1) | To do so, actuate the rinsing hose (3) with compressed air until the water is completely eliminated.
The pressure has to be adjusted to 5.5 bar, as a too high pressure can damage the dosage unit (1).
Danger! | Risk of accidents due to vehicle unintentional move when the engine is started. Risk of injury by pinching and burn by contact during the starting procedure or with the engine running | Assure vehicle against unintentional move. Use tight fitting and closed work clothes. Do not touch heated or running parts.
14 | Start the engine | ||
15 | Check the compressed air pressure in the dosage unit (1) with the STAR DIAGNOSIS | The actual value 69 has to be requested through the STAR DIAGNOSIS.
If the value is above the tolerance area indicated on the STAR DIAGNOSIS, the rinsing procedure has to be repeated. Should the value, after this, still not be correct:
Replace the metering unit (1)
16 | Remove the rinsing hose (3) | The testing connection (4) can remain on the vehicle after testing.
17 | Disconnect the STAR DIAGNOSIS
18 | Close the engine access cover |
