| Clean the valve (1), remove any carbonized oil residues
| Do not rework/rectify the seat face of the engine intake valves 457.9. In case of excessive wear or damage, replace them.
|

| Properly fasten the valve (1) to the grinder (2)
| Keep the valve head as close as possible to the mandrel so as to prevent oscillation/vibration.
|
|

| Adjust the angle to the valve seat face on the grinder scale
| Observe the values for intake or exhaust valves.

| By means of the grinder feed, slowly bring the valve seat face (1) closer to the grinding wheel
|
|
|

| Grind at a slow feed speed until the seating face is perfectly clean and without deformation all over the circumference
| After rework, the control values should match the prescribed values.

|

| If necessary, grind the stem end top (face in contact with the rocker), with the valve (1) on the prismatic support of the grinder (2)
| The length of the valve (C) must remain within the specified limits.
