Remove

1

Remove rear axle shafts.

Remove radial shaft sealing rings (1) from rear axle differential (2) using a suitable tool.


Do not damage seat of radial shaft sealing rings (1) in rear axle differential (2).
Leaks can occur otherwise.



Clean

Clean seat of radial shaft sealing rings (1) in housing of rear axle differential (2).

Cold degreasing agent/cold cleaning solvent HAKU 1025-920

Check

4

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) in housing of rear axle differential (2).

If damage is present,



Replace rear axle differential(2).

Check that retaining rings (3) are in correct installation position.

If a retaining ring (3) is not seated correctly,



correct installation position of retaining ring (3).

 Commercially available devices/tools
Circlip pliers



Install

6

Lubricate sealing lips of new radial shaft sealing rings (1).



Commercial vehicle hypoid gear oil (specification 235.31)

Press new radial shaft sealing rings (1) into rear axle differential (2) using drift (4).

Install rear axle shafts.

Check/correct oil level in rear axle differential (2).



Check rear axle differential (2) for leak tightness.
