Remove

Install temporarily a 130mm-diameter (rear axle 743.498) or 165mm-diameter (rear axles 746.9) flange in place of the coupling fork.

Loosen the threaded ring from its housing by a few turns with the appropriate   claw wrench along with the  multiplier torque.

Tap on the inner end of the pinion with a soft-material mandrel in order to move it away.

 Do not remove the pinion set yet.
To prevent the split ring (B) from falling into the groove (A) in the housing.

 Repeat it until the threaded ring is completely loose.

Apply 2 temporary bolts into the coupling flange to attach the threaded ring to the external bearing cap.
