In this Service Information bulletin, we would like to inform you that deactivation and activation of various vehicle functions by retrofitting of a free special equipment code is possible with immediate effect on the above-mentioned vehicles.
The following special equipment codes for deactivating and activating various vehicle functions are currently available:
O58 Deactivation of belt adjustment
Switch off belt adjustment: If the belt adjustment function is deactivated, the seat belt of the driver and front passenger seat is no longer adjusted to the torso of the vehicle occupant.
O59 Deactivation of automatic locking
Switch off automatic locking: If the "automatic door locking" function is deactivated, the vehicle no longer locks automatically as of a speed of approx. 15 km/h.
O60 Deactivation of interior lights OFF delay time
Switch off interior lights OFF delay time: If the "interior lights OFF delay" function is deactivated, the preset OFF delay time of 20 seconds, after removal of the ignition key, is switched off. The interior illumination no longer remains lit after the ignition key is removed.
O61 Deactivation of ambient illumination
Switch off ambient illumination: If the "ambient illumination" function is deactivated, the exterior lights remain switched off after the doors are unlocked.
O62Acoustic locking feedback deactivation
Switch off acoustic locking feedback: When the "acoustic locking feedback" function is deactivated, an acoustic signal is no longer issued as feedback when the vehicle is locked.
O63 Activation of acoustic locking feedback (intended for Netherlands only)
Switch on acoustic locking feedback: When the "acoustic locking feedback" function is activated, an acoustic signal is issued as feedback when the vehicle is locked.
For deactivation and activation of various vehicle functions, the corresponding special equipment code must be entered in the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc).
After a new special equipment code for deactivating/activating various vehicle functions is entered in the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc), the SCN coding (Software Calibration Number) of the instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1) must be performed using XENTRY Diagnostics (see AR54.21-S-0015E). To do this, select the following menu items:
Control units view (A1/1) - instrument cluster (IC) Adaptations Configuration SCN Updating of SCN coding
The instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1) must then be reset to the manufacturer default settings using XENTRY Diagnostics.
To do this, select the following menu items:
Control units view (A1/1) - instrument cluster (IC) Adaptations Configuration Manual settings Reset current menu settings to manufacturer default settings.
A special equipment code for deactivating/activating various vehicle functions can only be entered in the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc) by users with write privileges.
If no-one with change authorization is available, the "Wholesale" level must be contacted first, e.g. "Market Performance Center" (MPC), "Logistics Center" (LC) or "European Logistics Center" (ELC).
If, for organizational reasons, they are unable to provide assistance, you may then in exceptional cases contact the VeDoc Hotline per ticket in the XENTRY Support (XSF) system.
To rule out routing errors, it is advisable to generate the ticket in XSF from inside VeDoc. In this case the ticket must be forwarded in XSF from the relevant "Wholesale" level to the VeDoc Hotline.
Deactivation/activation of various vehicle functions is a customer-requested change and therefore it may not be settled through implied warranty/W&G. SCN coding (Software Calibration Number) of the instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1) using XENTRY Diagnostics is an additional service and must be itemized separately in the invoice. Please inform your customer about this.
The following operation items are available for this purpose:
54-1011 Conduct quick test
54-0992 Code control unit .................... (after quick test)
54-2306 Perform reset of control unit ..........
As the special equipment codes described in this document are not chargeable and neither part numbers have to be ordered via the parts ordering process nor a ticket needs to be generated in the "XENTRY Support & Feedback" (XSF) system, the instructions given in Service Information bulletin SI00.00-S-0015A regarding the "software retrofit" do not have to be taken into account as part of the above-mentioned deactivation/activation of vehicle functions.
