Note
- Before attaching the turbocharger, the intake line and the flanged manifold upstream of the compressor, the exhaust manifold and the exhaust line as well as the oil feed and oil return lines must be checked for foreign bodies, impurities and damage.
- Do not remove the seal caps on the openings of the turbocharger until just before installing.
- Before connecting the oil feed line, pour clean engine oil through the oil filler opening in the bearing housing. When doing this, turn the rotating parts by hand so that the bearings are coated with a film of oil.
Removal, installation
1 Unscrew compressed air line (1) for exhaust brake cylinder.
2 Detach oil pressure line (4) for turbocharger.
Installation note
Replace seals (3) and gasket at turbocharger.
3 Detach turbocharger (8).
Installation note
- Replace gasket and hexagon nuts (15), 50 Nm.
- Replace gasket and O-rings for oil return line (10).
4 Install in the reverse order.

Note
- Removal and installation applies by analogy to both turbochargers.
- Before attaching turbocharger, the intake line and the flanged manifold upstream of the compressor, the exhaust manifold and the exhaust line as well as the oil feed and oil return lines must be checked for foreign bodies, impurities and damage.
- Do not remove the seal caps on the openings of the turbocharger until just before installing.
- Before connecting the oil feed line, pour clean engine oil through oil filter opening in the bearing housing. When doing this, turn the rotating parts by hand so that the bearings are coated with a film of oil.
- Only one turbocharger version is stocked at a replacement part. Turbine and compressor housings must be appropriately turned if necessary.
- When performing repairs, turbochargers of different makes may be fitted.
Removal, installation
1 Unscrew compressed air line (17) for exhaust brake cylinder.
2 Detach oil pressure line (6) for turbocharger.
Installation note
Replace gasket.
3 Slacken hose clip for oil return line (20) at the right turbocharger.
Installation note
Replace gasket and O-rings for oil return line on left turbocharger.
4 Remove clip (14) between flange (21) and flexible exhaust pipe (15).
5 Slacken hose clips for air intake hose (16).
6 Push air intake hose (16) onto the air intake pipe.
7 Unscrew hexagon nuts (3) and remove turbocharger.
Installation note
Replace hexagon nut (3) and gasket.
8 Install in the reverse order.
