Function requirements for left/right outside mirror glass adjustment, general

No overvoltage or undervoltage

Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror, function, general

The two outside mirrors can be adjusted manually or electrically one after the other with the outside mirror up/down, in/out rocker switch (S1s6) in the light switch module (S1).

The left/right outside mirror glass adjustment comprises the following partial functions:

Adjust mirror glass function sequence

Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass positions
(with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Additional function requirements for adjusting mirror glass

C. 15R On

Mirror glass position memory not active
(with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror))

Adjust mirror glass function sequence

The left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) can selected separately with the left mirror adjustment switch (S1s4) or the right mirror adjustment switch (S1s5).

The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror up/down, in/out rocker switch. The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The adjustment request is read in voltage-coded by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and relayed to the left front door control unit (N69/1) and right front door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN.

The left front door control unit actuates the mirror adjustment up/down motor (M21/1m1) and the mirror adjustment in/out motor (M21/1m2).

The right front door control unit actuates the mirror adjustment up/down motor (M21/2m1) and the mirror adjustment in/out motor (M21/2m2).

Store/retrieve mirror glass position function sequence

The store/retrieve mirror glass position subfunction comprises the following subfunctions:

Store mirror glass position function sequence

Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Additional function requirements for storing mirror glass positions

Circuit 15R ON or driver door open

The status of the driver door is sensed by the left front door contact switch (S17/3), which is read in by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

Store mirror glass position function sequence

The currently adjusted mirror glass position can be stored via the door seat adjustment switch group (memory) (S91/2) The storage request is read in by the left front door control unit and is relayed via the interior CAN to the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) where the memory values are stored.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are two possibilities to store data:

- Press and hold down memory switch (S91/2s9) and simultaneously actuate memory location switch 1, 2, 3 (S91/2s14) for t 40 ms..

- Actuate memory switch for t 100 ms and release. Always actuate memory location switch within t < 3 s for t 40 ms.

The position values to be stored for the mirror are supplied by the following components:

- Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2)

- Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r3)

- Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)

- Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Additional function requirements for calling mirror glass position

Circuit 15R ON or driver door open

Manual adjustment not active

Position measurement supplies valid readings

Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence

A stored mirror position can be called up via the memory location switches.

For this purpose, the memory location switch must be pressed until the stored position has been reached.

Actuation of the memory location switch is read in by the left door control unit and relayed to the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory via the interior CAN. This uses the interior CAN to prompt the door control unit to move to the stored position.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blockage detection

The potentiometer makes recognition of blocking possible with the aid of the position sensor. If, during a present adjustment request, a change in the voltage values should not be recognized at the corresponding potentiometer, the adjustment is terminated immediately.
