No overvoltage or undervoltage
Left/right folding outside mirror, general
Left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and right electrically adjustable and heated mirror (M21/2) can be folded in and out electrically. This can be done both automatically and manually.
If circuit 15R is switched off while housing adjustment is active, housing adjustment is completed nevertheless.
If a new adjustment request is recognized while adjustment is in progress, the active adjustment is directly switched to the opposite direction.
The left/right outside mirror fold-in function comprises the following subfunctions:
Manual folding in/out function sequence
Automatic folding in/out function sequence
Manual folding in/out function sequence
The partial function manual fold-in/out comprises the following subfunctions:
Manual folding in function sequence
Manual folding out function sequence
Additional function requirements for manually folding in
Outside mirror folded out
Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
Vehicle speed v < 47 km/h
The EZS control unit (N73) transmits the status of circuit 15 to the left door control unit (N69/1) and the right door control unit (N69/2) via the interior CAN (CAN B).
The instrument cluster (A1) transmits the vehicle speed to the left door control unit and right door control unit via the interior CAN.
Manual folding in function sequence
By actuating the outside mirror fold-in/out switch (S50/1s3) integrated in the outside mirror adjustment switch with/without mirror fold-in/out feature (S50/1), the mirror housings can be folded to the garage position.
The signal from the outside mirror fold-in/out switch is read in directly by the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) and is transmitted to the left door control unit and right door control unit via interior CAN.
The left door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor (M21/1m3) in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror, and the right door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor (M21/2m3) in the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror.
Additional function requirements for manual fold-out
Outside mirror folded in
Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
The electric ignition lock (EZS) control unit transmits the status of circuit 15 via the interior CAN.
Manual folding out function sequence
Both outside mirrors can be folded to driving position when the outside mirror fold-in/out switch is actuated.
The signal from the outside mirror fold-in/out switch is read in directly by the upper control panel control unit and is transmitted to the left door control unit and right door control unit via interior CAN.
The left door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror and the right door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor in the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror.
Additional function requirements for automatic folding in/out
Function activated in instrument cluster
The instrument cluster transmits the status of the automatic folding in/out function to the left door control unit and right door control unit via interior CAN.
Automatic folding in/out function sequence
The partial function automatic fold-in/out comprises the following subfunctions:
Automatic folding in function sequence
Automatic folding out function sequence
Additional function requirements for automatic folding in
Outside mirror folded out
Circuit 15C OFF
The EZS control unit transmits the status of circuit 15 via interior CAN.
Automatic folding in function sequence
When the vehicle is locked from the outside with the central locking (CL [ZV]), both outside mirrors are folded in automatically (garage position).
The EZS control unit transmits the central locking status to the left door control unit and right door control unit via interior CAN.
The left door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror and the right door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor in the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror.
Additional function requirements for automatic folding out
Outside mirror folded in
CL locked
Automatic folding out function sequence
When the vehicle is unlocked via the CL and then the driver door opened or when switched circuit 15, both outside mirrors are folded out automatically to the driving position.
The EZS control unit transmits the status of the central locking and circuit 15 to the left door control unit and right door control unit via interior CAN.
The left door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror and the right door control unit actuates the power folding mirror motor in the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror.
If the outside mirrors are still folded in with circuit 15R ON by a previous automatic folding-in procedure, the mirror housings are folded out immediately.
