M8 Power window motor in passenger door
S34 Power window switch for passenger door
S35 Power window switch for driver's door
On vehicles equipped with convenience locking system (KSA) actuation of the power window motors in the driver's and passenger doors is accomplished via the ZV/KSA control module (A23).
The windows in the driver's and passenger doors can be opened and closed manually with the power window switches (S34 and S35). When the vehicle is locked windows open are closed automatically within the scope of the convenience locking features.
Actuation when locking vehicle
When the vehicle is locked with the key in the lock in the driver's door or with the radio frequency remote control (FFB) a convenience locking operation which automatically closes the windows is actuated by the ZV/KSA control module. For this purpose the control module actuates the power window motors (M7 and M8) directly.
Actuation by hand with power window switches
To open or close the windows with the power window switches (S34 and S35) it is necessary for the ignition (c. 15) to be switched on.
The power window switches allow
the windows to be moved to any desired position separately
or
the windows to be opened or closed automatically to their end position.
For individual control the switch for opening or closing must be held down for longer than 0.7 s. If released before 0.7 s the one-touch window up or down control is actuated.
The one-touch window up/down operation can be stopped by momentarily actuating the corresponding switch in the opposite direction.
Pinch protection
The one-touch window up operation is monitored over the entire closing path by the ZV/KSA control module. The control module interrupts the closing operation immediately when the window is prevented from closing completely by an object and moves the window in the opposite direction approx. 5 cm to relieve the pressure.
Power window motor overload protection
The overload protection is tripped when the motor becomes too hot. The control module then only allows the window to be closed. However, the pinch protection feature remains active.
