Actuation of the power window motors in the driver's and passenger doors is accomplished on vehicles equipped with the convenience locking system KSA by the ZV/KSA control module (A23).

The window in the driver's and passenger doors can be opened and closed manually with the power window switches (S34, S535 and S36). When the vehicle is locked any windows open are closed automatically within the scope of convenience locking.

Actuation when vehicle is locked

When the vehicle is locked with the key in the lock in the driver's door or with the radio frequency remote control FFB the convenience locking feature for automatically closing the windows is actuated by the ZV/KSA control module. The ZV/KSA control module actuates the power window motors (M7 and M8) directly for this purpose.

Manual actuation with power window switches

To open or close the windows with the power window switches (S34, S535 or S36) it is necessary for the ignition (c. 15) to be switched on.

The following operations can be accomplished with the power window switches

the windows can be opened individually to any desired position

or

the windows can be opened or closed all the way automatically

For individual control the switch must not be pressed
for longer than 0.7 s when opening or closing. If the switch
is actuated for > 0.7 s the one-touch window up/down control
is actuated.

The one-touch window up/down control can be interrupted by momentarily actuating the corresponding switch in the opposite direction.

Pinch protection
The one-touch window up/down control is monitored by the ZV/KSA control module over the entire closing path. The control module interrupts the closing operation immediately when closing is interrupted by an obstacle and moves the window approx. 2 cm
in the opposite direction to release the obstacle.

Overload protection for power window motors
The overload protection trips when a resistance such as reaching the upper end position occurs during the closing operation with the power window switch preventing the window from locking up and thereby overloading the power window motor.
