Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.
Warning | Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors from an air conditioning system containing R134a. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid R134a refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts | Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

| Check | ||
1 | Read out Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc) and check code entries. | The shutoff valve (1) can be installed in the "NO" version or in the "NC" version.
If code OB0 (NO SHUTOFF VALVE) is present in VeDoc,
| |||
remove code OB0 (NO SHUTOFF VALVE).
Codes can only be removed in VeDoc by a user with write permission.
| Remove/install | ||
2 | Remove refrigerant line from vehicle interior expansion valve.
3 | Disconnect electrical connection (2).
4 | Remove nut (3). | Nut, refrigerant line to shutoff valve for refrigerant circuit in vehicle interior
5 | Remove shutoff valve (1).
| Compressor oils (specification 362.1) | ||
Plug openings. | |||
Installation: Replace sealing ring (4) and coat with compressor oil.
Record plug | |||
6 | Replace shutoff valve (1). | If code OB0 (NO SHUTOFF VALVE) was present in VeDoc.
The shutoff valve (1) in version "NO" must be replaced by a shutoff valve (1) in version "NC".
7 | Install in the reverse order. |
