Check

1

Check driver-side wiper blade (3) and passenger-side wiper blade (4) for wear and damage

When working on raised driver-side wiper arm (1) or passenger-side wiper arm (2), ensure that they do not fall onto the windshield.
Otherwise windshield will be damaged.

If wear or damage present

Replace wiper blades

2

Check position of driver-side wiper arm (1) and passenger-side wiper arm (2) in parked position using markings (C) (arrows) at windshield

The wiper blade ends must lie on the markings (C) (arrows) and may not be offset upwards or downwards by more than 10 mm.

The distance from the outer marking to the A-pillar (A) is approx. 60 mm, the distance from the inner marking to the A-pillar (B) is approx. 510 mm.

Excessive deviations may be caused by a damaged wiper linkage, incorrect positioning of the wiper arms (1, 2) on the linkage pins, or bent wiper arms (1, 2).

If damage is present

Replace windshield wiper system

3

Position wiper arms (1, 2) in reversing position

The reversing position of the driver-side wiper arm (1) corresponds to the distance between the upper end of the driver-side wiper blade and the driver-side A-pillar (D) of approx. 30 mm.
The reversing position of the passenger-side wiper arm (2) corresponds to the distance between the upper end of the passenger-side wiper blade and the driver-side A-pillar (E) of approx. 460 mm.

4

Check angle of incidence of wiper arms (1, 2) to windshield
