Remove/Install

Remove rear spoiler

Remove inner cover from tailgate (1)

Unclip electrical connector (3) and disconnect

Detach grommet (8, 9) from tailgate (1)

Before pulling out the wiring harness (7) fasten pulling wire (arrow) and pull wiring harness (7) out of tailgate

Pull out washing water hose (2)

 Danger!

Injury hazard Gas-operated struts are under high pressure and can pinch and crush body parts during work

Remove and install gas-operated struts only in relaxed position and on components properly secured.

Lift retainer (4) with suitable screwdriver and remove gas-operated struts (5) from tailgate (1)

 Secure tailgate (1) with suitable tool

Remove bolts (6)



Remove tailgate (1) with helper

 Lay tailgate (1) down on suitable surface

Install in the reverse order

Perform function check

Check dimensions gaps on tailgate (1)
