Remove sealing frame from upper rear door

 Remove sealing frame from door until headliner (4) is accessible.

Detach headliner (4) on roof and remove toward rear

 Have second person help and remove electrical wiring harnesses from headliner (4).

 Installation: Have second person help and check whether headliner (4) is seated correctly.

Prepare headliner (4) for installation of grab handle (3)

Only when replacing headliner (4).

Fit new headliner (4)

Only when replacing headliner (4).

 Depending on the equipment variant or accessories, the new headliner (4) must be equipped with additional cutouts.



Check

Check whether mounting strips on headliner (4) are seated tightly

 Fasten loose mounting strips to headliner (4) with hot melt adhesive.
Commercially available tools
Thermoplastic adhesive gun

Check whether Velcro strips are seated tightly on mounting strips

 Glue loose Velcro strips to fastening strips.

Scotch 3M 4297 primer
