Remove/install

Remove windshield

Completely open sliding roof lining on sliding roof

Completely open roller sun blind on rear window

Remove inside rearview mirror

Remove sun visors (2)

Remove front grab handle (4) and rear grab handle (5)

Remove upper B-pillar paneling (6)

Remove C-pillar paneling (7) and lay down to side with seat belt installed

Disconnect electrical connector (8)

Slightly fold back foam material and disconnect electrical connector (11)

Remove edge guard from body flange in area of roof lining (1)

Press catch hooks (arrows) together and unclip headliner (1) from front roof frame

Loosen headliner (1) on left and right on sliding roof frame

Detach roof lining (1) from roof bow at brackets (10)

 Helper required.

Push roof lining (1) toward rear until guide hooks (9) are unhooked from rear roof frame and place roof lining (1) down in vehicle

 Helper required.

Remove roof lining (1) from vehicle through window cutout in windshield


Do not bend headliner (1) excessively.
Otherwise the headliner (1) can kink and be damaged.

 Helper required.

Make sure that all of the soundproofing on the headliner (1) is properly attached and in good condition.

If a problem arises



Replace the affected soundproofing on the headliner (1).

Prepare new headliner (1) for installation

When replacing roof paneling (1).
