Remove/install

Open all doors and install protective covers in vehicle interior

Retract head restraints (1) on front seats

Open paneling on sliding roof

Open roller sun blind on panoramic sliding roof

Remove overhead control panel control unit (N70) or overhead control panel electronics (N70/3)

Remove rear-view mirror (2)

Remove left roller sun blind (3) and bearing for left roller sun blind (3)

Remove right roller sun blind (4) and bearing for right roller sun blind (4)

Remove left front grab handle (5) and right front grab handle (6)

Remove left front bracket (7) and right front bracket (8) for luggage net

Loosen edge guard (9) at front, top and rear of entry on front doors

 Installation: Ensure that the edge guard (9) is properly seated.

Remove left A-pillar panel and right B-pillar panel

Loosen edge guard (10) at front, top and rear of entry on rear doors

 Installation: Ensure that the edge guard (10) is properly seated.

Remove top left B-pillar paneling (11) and top right B-pillar panel (12)

 Installation: Align belt height adjustment device and clip in.

Open liftgate

Remove left upper cargo area paneling (13) and right upper cargo area paneling (14)

Remove left C-pillar paneling (15) and right C-pillar paneling (16)

 Do not loosen seatbelt.

 Installation: Align belt height adjustment device and clip in.

Remove left rear bracket (17) and right rear bracket (18) for luggage net

Remove left rear grab handle (19) and right rear grab handle (20)

Open cargo area floor and rear center section paneling

Remove left D-pillar paneling (21) and right D-pillar paneling (22)

Loosen edge guard (23) at top

 Installation: Ensure that edge guard (23) is properly seated.

Disconnect electrical connector (24) and expose electrical line (25)

Disconnect electrical connector (26) and expose electrical line (27)

Remove retaining frame (29) for inside rearview mirror

Disengage headliner (32) from sliding roof frame

Disengage headliner (32) from panoramic roof frame

with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof)

Loosen headliner (32) from roof frame, push out of the two guides (arrows A) toward rear and lower slightly

 Helper required.
The headliner (32) is fastened in the center of the roof frame with Velcro strips or magnets.

Guide out electrical line (27)

 Installation: Route electrical line (27) over check strap (31).

Remove headliner (32) from vehicle toward rear with aid of helper and lay down on suitable subsurface

Remove rear parking system warning indicator (A44/3)
