Remove/install

Move driver's seat to rearmost position.

Remove covers (2).

Remove front overhead control panel.

Remove both A-pillar trims.

Remove stowage box/tray above windshield on driver's and/or front passenger side.

Remove screw (8) on driver's and/or front passenger side and remove sun visor bracket (9) on driver's side and/or front passenger side.

Remove upper trim at partition.

Unclip roof lining (1) with a suitable tool in rear area at retaining clips (6).

11.1

Release window airbags on driver's side and front passenger side from roof lining (1).

Release window airbag on driver's side from roof lining (1).

with code SJ3 (Omission of front passenger window airbag)

Press roof lining (1) toward rear and upwards and move with brackets (7) in front area out of roof.

 Installation:
Carefully insert roof lining (1) in front area into roof.
Risk of breakage of brackets (7).

 Helper required.

Lift roof lining (1) over B-pillar trims and swivel downwards in rear area.

 Helper required.

Fully open front passenger door.

Remove roof lining (1) from vehicle.

 Helper required.

Check retaining clips (6) for damage.

If a retaining clip (6) is damaged,



Replace relevant retaining clip (6).

 Warning

Risk of injury caused by slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and by splinters when cutting out bonded windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Incorporate cutouts into new roof lining (1).

When replacing roof paneling (1).

 Depending on the equipment variant or accessories, the new roof lining (1) must be provided with additional cutouts.

Install in the reverse order.



Perform function test of all component parts installed in roof lining (1).
