| Remove/Install | ||
Danger! | Risk of explosion. When working on natural-gas vehicles, escaping natural gas or an overheated compressed-gas tank may result in explosion. Risk of frostbite to body parts from escaping natural gas or contact with components near the valves while draining the compressed-gas tanks. Risk of poisoning or risk of suffocation from inhaling natural gas. | Remove any sources of ignition. Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated. Wear heat-protective gloves.
1 | Close gas shutoff valves at compressed-gas tanks
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns while working in the engine during the starting procedure or when the engine is running | Secure the vehicle to prevent it from starting on its own.
2 | Start the engine and allow it to run with the vehicle stationary until the engine stops on its own. | Push extraction hose onto exhaust pipe. After engine has stopped, switch ignition off. Gas system is adequately emptied after engine stops.
3 | Take off clamp (1) | ||
4 | Detach high-pressure lines (2, 3) at check valve (4) and take out check valve | Installation: Install the check valve in such a way that the arrow points towards the front to the distributor block.
Installation: Tighten the threaded connections of the pipe as instructed.
5 | Install in the reverse order
6 | Inspect high-pressure line connections (2, 3) for leaks | Moisten the connections all round with soapy suds. Briefly refuel vehicle and inspect for formation of bubbles. |
