Chock the wheels and release the parking brake

 Every time maintenance is performed in the vehicle brake system, the vehicle must be stopped on a flat surface and level with wheel chocks.

 The pneumatic system must be set to working pressure.

Remove the relief screw (2) up to the position of parking brake mechanical release

 Installation: At the end of the installation, the relief screw (2) must be screwed in to its original position.

Drain the pneumatic system

Remove the counter-pin (5) and disconnect the forked rod from the brake lever

 Installation: Lubricate the pivot pin (5) and replace the counter-pin.

Grease, DB supply specification 6811.00.20 - Class 266.2

Remove the service and parking brake compressed air pipings (3)

 The compressed air pipings (3) must be connected free of tension or bends.

Release the self-locking nuts (4) from the combined cylinder (1) and remove it.

 Installation: Replace the self-locking nuts (4).
Observe the original assembly position of the combined cylinder (1).

Installation in reverse order

 After the installation, the pneumatic system pressure must be reset.

Check

Check and, if necessary, adjust the drum brake clearance
