Grease all moving parts of the differential with special lubricant before installing.
1 Install rear axle side gear (4) with shim (3) in differential housing.
2 Mount differential pinions (6) and spherical washers (5) on the two bolts (7).

3 Insert lower bolt (7) with the differential pinions (6) and spherical washers (5) in the differential housing.
4 Insert upper bolt (7) with differential pinions (6) and spherical washers (5) in the differential housing.
The recesses of the bolts (7)
must engage in each other.

5 Fit upper rear axle side gear (4) with shim (3).

6 Fit cover (14) on differential housing.
The markings must match (same numbers opposite each other, arrow).
7 Tighten retaining bolts (13) for cover (14) on differential housing .

7 Insert drift (1) into rear axle side gear (4).
8 Fit torque wrench over drift (1).
9 Check friction torque (total friction moment) of differential and compare with specified value.
The total friction moment can be changed by adjusting the thickness of the shims. The shims are available in thicknesses from 1.30 mm to 2.00 mm in graduations of
0.05 mm.
10 Exchange shims if necessary and remeasure total friction moment.
