Check
1 | Install the holding tool on the drive flange. |
2 | Tighten the collar nut to the final tightening torque using the socket wrench adapter and the torque multiplier wrench. |
3 | Position the torque wrench (6) with the socket wrench adapter (4) on the collar nut. |
4 | Spin the drive flange continuously by at least 3 turns. |
Do not start spinning the drive flange with a impact. |
If the friction torque does not match the specified value: | |
| |
Change the thickness of the spacer washer. |
W33.30-0038-01
Adjust
5 | Determine the proper spacer washer. |
In case of friction torque GREATER than the specified value: install a THINNER spacer washer . |
Consider the smaller specified value for re-used tapered roller bearings. |
6 | Remove again the drive flange. |
7 | Remove again the pinion from the casing of the drive flange. |
8 | Install the proper spacer washer and the casing of the drive flange on the pinion. |
9 | Heat the tapered roller bearing up to approx. 80 °C and install it on the pinion, up to the stop. |
10 | Check again the friction torque . |
