Remove

Remove the interaxle differential with the cap

Loosen the locknut (1) and remove the flange drive shaft flange (2)

Loosen the screw (3) and remove the locking plate (4)

Remove the threaded ring (5) with seals (6) and (7) installed

Remove the external (6) and internal (7) seals from the threaded ring (5) with slight taps

Remove the drive shaft with the interaxle differential (10) from the cap (9)

Remove the radial bearing (8) from the cap (9)

 Use a suitable mandrel to remove the bearing.

Install

Install a new radial bearing (8) into the interaxle differential cap (9)

 Install radial bearing with the aid of the mandrel, inserting it into its housing until it stops at the cap.

Install on the threaded ring (5): first the external seal (6), then the internal seal (7), noting the correct assembly position of the seals

 The internal seal (7) has a single lip and should be mounted with the lip facing the bearing. The external seal (6) provides double lips and should be mounted with the lips facing the internal seal (7). Apply abundant lubricating grease to the sealing lips.

Install the drive shaft with the differential (10) on the cap (9)

 Install the drive shaft (10) with new radial bearings (8) and (11) and insert the drive shaft until it stops inside the housing.

Install the threaded ring (5) with seals (6) and (7) installed

 Apply a sealing product to the threads of the threaded ring (5) and tighten to the specified tightening torque.

Install the lock (4)

Install the flange (2) of the drive shaft and secure it using a new nut (1)

 Hold the flange with the immobilizer key and tighten the nut (1) to the specified tightening torque.
