Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove

1.1

Place floor covering in driver-side footwell to one side

When removing the shock-absorber strut (4) on the left side.

Remove cover for tools in passenger-side footwell

When removing the shock-absorber strut (4) on the right side.

Remove cover (1) from respective shock-absorber strut attachment

If installed.

Secure vehicle on vehicle lift

Remove respective front wheel and tire assembly

Remove electric line of rpm sensor from shock-absorber strut (4)

Lift up transverse control arm using major-assembly mounting and support plate by roughly 10 mm



Unscrew nut (2) from respective top shock-absorber strut attachment

Remove bolts (5) and remove shock-absorber strut (4) from steering knuckle



Install

Check elastomer bearing (3) for damage and replace, if necessary

Position upper shock-absorber strut attachment into footwell and tighten nut (2) lightly by hand

 Replace nut (2).

Lift up transverse control arm using major-assembly mounting and support plate



Position shock-absorber strut (4) on steering knuckle and screw-in bolts (5)

 Bolt, shock-absorber strut to steering knuckle

Mount electric line of rpm sensor onto shock-absorber strut (4)

Lower major assembly mounting and support plate and slide to one side



Mount respective front wheel and tire assembly

Release vehicle on lifting platform

Tighten nut (2) of upper shock-absorber strut attachment

 Nut, damper strut to body

Install cover (1) for upper shock-absorber strut attachment

If the cover (1) was removed.

Insert cover for tools in passenger-side footwell

When installing the shock-absorber strut (4) on the right side.

Refit floor covering in driver-side footwell

When installing the shock-absorber strut (4) on the left side.

Perform wheel alignment check
