Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Remove/install

Deactivate air suspension

Raise vehicle

Remove spare tire

If the spare wheel is mounted just before the cover (1).

Unclip expansion rivet (2)

Take off cover (1)

 Only install cover (1) after the leak test.

Unclip expansion rivet (3)

Lift cover (4) and remove backward


Remove cover (4) carefully.
Otherwise the compressed air line (5) could get damaged.

 Only install cover (4) after the leak test.

Unscrew compressed air line (11) at compressor (A10)

Disconnect Electrical connection (9)

Disconnect electrical connection (10)

Press release lever (7) and pull out air intake hose (8)

Counterhold screws/bolts (17) and unscrew nuts (16)

 Nut, compressor to bracket

Remove sleeves (15) and springs (14) from compressor (A10)

Remove compressor (A10) from below



Check

Remove sleeves (12)

Check elastomer bearing (13) for damage

If damage is present



Replace elastomer bearing (13).

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check air suspension for leaks
