Remove

1

Unscrew nuts (4) and remove bolts (21) of left spring clamp plate (22) and right spring clamp plate (14)


The vehicle must be standing on its complete wheels.
Otherwise, the spring clamp plates are under tension.

Secure vehicle on vehicle lift

Remove front wheel and tire assembly

Remove respective brake caliper (10) with connected lines and secure against falling down

Remove bolt (24) and pull rpm sensor (23) out of steering knuckle

Expose signal line for rpm sensor and fasten with rpm sensor (23) into wheel arch

7

Unscrew nut (13), remove heat shield (26) and remove tie rod (19) from steering knuckle

Remove transverse control arm from front axle carrier

Support transverse leaf spring (16) in center using major assembly mount

Unscrew nuts (5), remove bolts (25) and remove left spring clamp plate (22) and right spring clamp plate (14)

Lower major assembly mount

Remove transverse leaf spring (16) sideways



Install

Support transverse leaf spring (16) in center using major assembly mount and wooden block, and place into a transverse recess

 Loosely screw on (but do not fully tighten) the nuts (3) securing the transverse control arm mounting.

Lower major assembly support and slide to one side

Mount tie rod (19) onto steering knuckle, mount heat shield (26) and tighten nut (13)

 Replace nut (13).

Install rpm sensor (23) into steering knuckle and tighten bolt (24)

Fix signal line for rpm sensor into holder

 Check that the ABS signal line is routed such that it cannot chafe against other parts.

 Replace nuts (4, 5).

Roll vehicle forward and backward approx. 1 m and rock firmly

Tighten nuts (3) on transverse control arm mounting


The vehicle must be standing on its complete wheels.
Otherwise, the nuts cannot be tightened correctly.
