1 Connect hand-held tester to the 14-pin diagnostic socket.
2 Switch on ignition.
3 Carry out short test.
4 Switch over to menu EDC (Electronic Diesel Control).
6 Switch over to menu Parameterization (switch over directly with numerical key 5, or press cursor keys and Enter key).
7 Enter engine number and unit code of the old EDC control unit (shown on sticker of old control unit).
The hand-held tester no. and the current date are automatically programed in the EDC control unit during parameterization.
If the message "Writing Epprom fault" or "EOL pin not set" appears in the display when storing the unit code, replace the control unit.
The message "Incorrect correction values" appears in the display if the unit code of the old control unit has been inadvertently written down and entered.
If an incorrect number is entered once again, the message "Time lock set" appears in the display. A time lock for entering of 1 minute is set in the hand-held tester, this time being doubled for each additional manipulation attempt.
8 Use felt pen for synthetic material to enter the engine number and the unit code in the blank boxes of the new sticker.
