Remove/install

Remove rear transmission housing

Remove shift mechanism

With "Manual" gearshift code G62

With "Control cable" gearshift code G63

Pull out retainer (1) of reverse gear shift rail (6)

Unhook reverse gear shift rail (6), 1st and 2nd gear (7), 3rd and 4th gear shift rail (8) and remove in sequence

Remove reverse gear shift fork (2), 1st and 2nd gear shift fork (3) and 3rd and 4th gear shift fork (4)

 Pull the shift forks with shift rails slightly out of the main shaft. Unhook shift forks from shift rails and remove.

Unscrew both bearing bolts of the 5th and 6th gear shift fork (5) from the front transmission housing

 Installation: Either replace the bearing pins (if thread is micro-encapsulated) or coat the thread with sealant.



Pull out 5th and 6th gear shift fork (5)

 Only possible in combination with removing the main shaft and countershaft:

Pull slider (9) out of the reverse gear shift fork (2), 1st and 2nd gear shift fork (3), 3rd and 4th gear shift fork (4)

 Installation: Ensure that the sliders are correctly seated in the shift forks. Oil the sliders (9) lightly.

Clean all parts, check for damage and wear and replace if necessary

Install in the reverse order
