Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid | Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.
| Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts | ||
1 | Remove front engine cover
2 | Remove left and right engine intake air ducts
3 | Remove electric fan | ||
4 | Remove radiator grille
5 | Detach lower engine compartment paneling | Installation: Install engine compartment paneling only after engine test run.
6 | Drain coolant at radiator (1)
| Notes on coolant | ||
7 | Detach coolant hose (3) at radiator (1) | Installation: Check condition of coolant hose (3) and replace if necessary. Ensure coolant hose (3) is fitted correctly on radiator (1)
| |||
8 | Unclip radiator mount (2)
9 | Remove bolts (4, 6) for air ducting (8) | The air ducting (8) remains in vehicle.
10 | Detach coolant hoses (10) at connection fitting (9) from engine radiator (1) and place to one side | Installation: Check condition of coolant hoses (10) and replace if necessary. Ensure that coolant hoses (10) are fitted correctly on radiator (1).
| |||
11 | Detach automatic transmission oil lines (15) from connections (14) on radiator (1) | Seal all connections (14) immediately using stop plugs, otherwise the automatic transmission may be damaged due to contamination.
| |||
12 | Detach power steering oil lines (12) at connections (11) | Seal all connections (11) immediately using stop plugs, otherwise the power steering may be damaged due to contamination.
| |||
13 | Remove bolt (13) from refrigerant line mounting on radiator (1)
14 | Unclip condenser for air conditioning from upper supports (5) and pull out condenser upwards out of the mount below (7) | Place air conditioning condenser down in front of radiator (1).
15 | Take out radiator (1) in an upward direction | Installation: Pay attention to correct seating of rubber mount (1). Ensure air conditioning condenser's lower supports (7) are correctly seated in radiator (1).
16 | Install in the reverse order
17 | Check transmission oil level and correct if necessary
18 | Check power steering oil level
| Check and correct power steering fluid level | ||
19 | Inspect cooling system for leaks
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
