1 | Loosen the screws (S) and remove the rear cover (N) | Except for Engines 374.9 | |
2 | Loosen the screws (Q) from the front cover with sealant (C) | ||
3 | Remove the shaft (A) together with the hub (B) and the bearings (E, F) | Properly support the water pump on the press and, with the aid of an appropriate pin, extract the shaft by pressing the side of the rotor (J). | |
4 | Remove the hub (B) and the front bearing (E) from the shaft (A) | With the help of the press, support the assembly on the inner race of the bearing and remove the shaft. | |
5 | Remove the rear bearing (F) from the shaft (A) | With the help of the press, support the assembly on the inner race of the bearing and remove the shaft. | |
6 | Remove the sealant from the front cover (C) | | |
7 | Remove the sliding sealant assembly (H) from the housing (P) | ||
8 | Remove the sealant (G) from the housing (P) | | |
9 | Remove the ring with the sliding sleeve from the rotor (J) | ||

10 | Clean the parts of the water pump | Clean the parts with kerosene, except the shielded bearings and sliding seals, which should be dry cleaned. | |

12 | Install a new rear seal (G) on the pump housing (P) | | |
13 | Install a new seal on the front cover (C) | | |
14 | Install the bearings (E, F) on the shaft (A) | Fill the bearing cages with suitable grease, in the indicated quantity, with the aid of a press, mount them on the shaft until they reach the stop. | |
15 | Install the shaft (A) on the hub (B) | Mount the front cover with the seal on the hub, and insert the shaft with the aid of the press, until it reaches the stop, mounting a new sealing ring (D) on the front cover (C) shoulder. | |
16 | Install the shaft assembly (A) on the housing (P) | Insert the shaft assembly in the housing and tighten the front cover (Q) screws to the specified torque, noting the sealing ring (D) position. | |

17 | Mount a new sliding seal (H) | With the aid of a suitable mandrel, insert the sliding seal until the tab leans on the housing. | |

18 | Mount the slip ring on the rotor (J) with the sealing sleeve | When assembling the composite sliding seal, these parts are integrated thereto, and the whole assembly is mounted on the pump housing. | |
