Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Remove

Open maintenance flap

Turn cap on expansion reservoir one half turn counterclockwise, relieve overpressure and then unscrew cap from expansion reservoir.

 Danger !

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle with vehicle lift

Remove starter

Unfasten spring clamps (5, 6) and push to the rear

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove coolant hoses (1, 4) from heating system shutoff valve (Y162)

 Collect escaping coolant.

Disconnect electrical connection (2)

Remove heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2) from bracket (3)

Remove coolant hoses (1, 4) from vehicle

 Collect escaping coolant.

Install

Plug cap (7) on electrical connection (2)

Strap down electrical connection (2) with a cable tie

12

Install coolant hose (8).

 The coolant hose (8) replaces the coolant hoses (1, 4) and the heating system shutoff valve (Y16/2).

Install starter

Lower vehicle with vehicle lift

Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system

 Since the cooling system is not completely emptied, a first ventilation procedure is sufficient.
