Check

Danger!

Risk of injury in the skin and eyes due to burns caused by overheated steam or coolant. Risk of poisoning by coolant ingestion

Only open the coolant system in a temperature below 90 °C. Open slowly the cap and allow the pressure surplus to go out. It is advisable not to keep coolant in beverage recipients. Wear protective gloves, clothes and goggles.

1

Remove the expansion tank's (2) cap (1)

2

Actuate the heat control, putting it in the opened position

Vehicle equipped with heating system.

4

Install the tightness tester (3) in the reservoir supply mouth (2)

Assemble the tester, in such a way that it stays firmly fastened in the mouth.

5

Connect a compressed air line to the intake connection (3.1) of the tester device (3)

The compressed air line must be equipped with an open and shut control valve.

6

Submit the system to a pressure of 1.0 bar, controlling it by the regulator (3.3)

When the pressure in the system reaches the check value (1.0 bar), interrupt the air feed, closing the compressed air line control valve.

7

Check the tightness of the system, paying attention to the pressure stability, shown in the manometer of the tester device (3)

If a pressure drop is shown in manometer tester (3), check for leaks the engine, the water pump, the hoses, tubes, connections, radiator, expansion tank of the heating and cooling system.

8

Depressurize the system through the discharge valve (3.2) and remove the tester (3)

Disconnect the compressed air line from the intake connection (3.1).

9

Correct eventual leaks in the heating and cooling system

Re-tighten the clamps and replace them.

Replace the hoses or tubes.

Repair or replace the radiator, water pump, expansion tank and correct engine leaks.

10

Install the cap (1) in the expansion tank's (2)

If necessary, replenish the coolant level:

Cooling system: Check and restore the level and concentration of the coolant
