Remove

1

Removing the oil pan.

Unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the cover (2).

Install the pump in a vise protected with a soft wood block.

Remove the driven gear (3).

Remove the drive gear (10).



Remove the drive gear (4).

Check

Check the wear of the components of the oil pump housing (6), if necessary replace them:

 Gears (3) and (4) are to be replaced in pairs.

Diameter of the housing of the shafts in the pump case and in the pump cover.

Installing

Install the drive gear (4) in the housing (8).

Install the drive gear (10) on the drive gear shaft (4).

Heat-up the drive gear to 80°C, do not use direct flame.

Install the drive gear (3) in the housing (8).

Install the cover (2) and tighten the bolts (1).



Install the support (11) with the dial gage (12) on the housing of the oil pump (6) and check the axial clearance of the gears (3) and (4).

Rest the feeler with some pre-load on the shaft of one of gears, force the shaft down and set the dial gage to zero, force the shaft up and read the axial clearance on the dial gage.

Remove the support (11) and the dial gage (12).

 Lubricate the gears with engine oil through the suction opening.


