Warning | Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing AdBlue | Pour AdBlue into suitable containers only. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.
Topical note | Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts
Notes on use, material properties and handling of AdBlue®
Warning | Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
1 | Open cap at expansion reservoir, release pressure in cooling system and close cap

2 | Drain AdBlue® tank (1)
| NOx reducing agent AUS 32 ("ADBlue(R)") for SCR systems | ||
| |||
Installation: Refill with new AdBlue®. Observe Specifications for Operating Fluids.
Danger | Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel. | No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
3 | Drain fuel tank (17); for this purpose, unscrew drain screw
Installation: Replace sealing ring and screw on drain screw at fuel tank (17).
4 | Expose electrical wiring harness (14) and disconnect electrical connector (13)
5 | Open insulating hose (8) in area of AdBlue® line fitting to a length of approx. 10 cm and slide back | Installation: Close zip fastener of insulating hose (8) with roll pliers.
Roller tongs | |||
6 | Clamp off coolant lines (11, 12) with clamps | Clamp
7 | Mark coolant lines (11, 12) relative to AdBlue® tank (1) and remove | Installation: Check hose clamps, replace if necessary.
8 | Clamp off AdBlue® lines (9, 10) with clamps | Clamp
9 | Mark AdBlue® lines (9, 10) relative to AdBlue® tank (1) and remove
10 | Remove filler line (7) from AdBlue® tank (1) | Installation: Check hose clamp, replace if necessary.
11 | Remove bolts (6) | ||
12 | Unscrew nut (3) and remove screw (5)
13 | Support fuel tank (17) with suitable means
14 | Unscrew screws (15), remove AdBlue® tank (1) and bracket (16) | Counterhold nuts. Screws (15) are the fastening for both the AdBlue® tank (1) and fuel tank (17).
15 | Install in the reverse order
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
16 | Perform engine test run, switch off engine and check in area of AdBlue® tank (1) for leaks
