| Remove and install | ||
Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding in jobs on AdBlue pipes and on components connected to them. Risk of injuries on skin and eyes from contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from AdBlue ingestion | Catch AdBlue only in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas aftertreatment system after relieving the pressure.
| Indications on applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Turn the ignition off | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury on skin and eyes, from burns caused by steam or overheated coolant. Risk of poisoning by coolant ingestion | Open the cooling system only when the temperature is below 90 °C. Open the cap slowly and let the excess pressure out. Coolant must not be kept in beverage containers. Utilize gloves, appropriate clothes and protective glasses.
| Indications on coolant | ||
2 | Relieve coolant system pressure | Only on models fitted wit AdBlue heating system.
3 | Detach the connections (5) (6) from the cooling system pipes on the pump module | Only on models fitted wit AdBlue heating system.
| |||
Identify the cooling system pipes in relation to connections (5, 6) as outlet and inlet.
Catch the coolant in a clean container.
4 | Detach the electric connection (7) from the pump module (8) | The electric connection (7) must not get in contact with AdBlue, as this can damage the electric wiring harness and the SCR module.
5 | Check the electric wiring harness (9)
6 | Remove the compressed air connection (4) from the pump module (8)
7 | Open the insulation hose in the area of the connections (1), (2) and (3) of the AdBlue pipes in approximately 20 cm
8 | Detach the piping on the AdBlue suction connection (1)
9 | Detach the pipes on the AdBlue supply connection (2) and return connection (3) | Identify the AdBlue system pipes in relation to connections (2) and (3).
Installing: Replace the sealing rings. Pay attention to the identification of the pipes (2) and (3).
| |||
10 | Remove the pump module (8)
11 | Install in reverse order
12 | Charge the pressure accumulator of the pump module (8) | Only in case of pump module (8) replacement.
Danger! | Risk of accident by the unintentional rolling with the engine running. Risk of injury by crushing and burns by contact during the starting procedure or with the engine running | Secure the vehicle against unintentional rolling. Utilize tight and closed work clothes. Do not touch heated-up or running parts.
13 | Start the engine | ||
14 | Checking the cooling system for tightness | Only on models fitted wit AdBlue heating system.
15 | Checking the coolant level | Only on models fitted wit AdBlue heating system. |
