| Remove and install | ||
Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding at jobs on AdBlue pipes and on components connected to them. Risk of injuries on skin and eyes from contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from AdBlue ingestion | Only collect AdBlue in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas aftertreatment system after pressure relief.
| Indications on applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Turn-off the ignition
2 | Remove the injection pipe | Replace the injection pipe after each removal.
3 | Remove the AdBlue flow hose at the opening of pipe (1) | Make sure AdBlue does not splash from the AdBlue flow hose on the electric connections, because it may damage the AdBlue metering unit (7).
Installing Before assembling, check the AdBlue flow hose, for foreign matter, dirt and damages. If the AdBlue hose is being re-utilized, its length has to be reduced, by approx. 2 cm, in the clamp area. If the AdBlue hose becomes too short, because of this modification, it has to be replaced. Replace the ear clamp
4 | Remove the compressed air pipe (8) at the metering unit (7) | Seal the orifice with an adequate plug.
Installing Before the assembly, check the sleeve ring of the compressed air line (8) for foreign matter, dirt and damages.
| |||
5 | Separate the electric connections at the metering unit (7)
6 | Remove the pipe opening (1) from the metering unit (7) | Only if replacing the metering unit (7)
Before removing the pipe opening (1), it is essential to remove the AdBlue hose, otherwise, leaks may result.
Installing Replace the sealing ring.
| |||
7 | Remove the metering unit (7) with the bushings (4)
Installing If the metering unit, installed without heating element (12), is replaced with the metering unit fitted with heating element (12), carry out the following work steps:
- Install the electric wiring harness for the heating element (12) of the metering unit (7).
8 | Install in reverse order
Danger! | Risk of accidents caused by unintentional vehicle rolling when the engine is started. Risk of injuries by pinching and burns from contact during the starting procedure or with the engine running | Protect the vehicle against unintentional rolling. Use closed and tight-fitting working clothes. Do not touch heated-up or moving parts.
9 | Start the engine | ||
10 | With the engine running, check the metering unit (7) for tightness |
