Case

Disconnect timing chain

The timing case shaft must be covered with clean rag to protect against falling parts before doing work on the timing chain (1). Parts which have nevertheless managed to fall into the timing case recess must be removed.
Engine damage may occur otherwise.

Prepare separate parts of the special tools.

The separate parts of the special tools are stored in the case.

6

Fit chain breaker tool (6) onto timing chain (1).

When putting the pilot bushing (5) in place, ensure that this encloses the pin for the timing chain link pin.
The timing chain link pin can be damaged otherwise.

Slowly turn engine at the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation if necessary until perfect placing is possible.
Use a counterholder for model 900, 906 with code H08 (High-performance A/C) or with code HK4 (Rear A/C), enhanced, for model 636, 639.
Use a counterholder for model 900, 906 without code H08 (High-performance A/C) and without code HK4 (Rear A/C), enhanced, for model 636, 639.
