Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. | |
1 | Bring engine to operating temperature (approx. 80°C) | Only check cylinder for leaks when engine is at normal operating temperature. | |
2 | Remove key from the ignition lock | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. | |
3 | Unscrew the cap (1) of the coolant expansion reservoir (2) | ||
4 | Remove the oil filler cap (3) | ||
5 | Remove spark plugs | ||
| Replace spark plugs | Model 211 | |

6 | Position piston of cylinder to be checked at top dead center using top dead center selector | Crank the engine at the center Bolt, the crankshaft in the direction of rotation of the engine. | |

7 | Connect up cylinder leakage tester (04) | ||

8 | Pressurize cylinder with compressed air and read off pressure loss on cylinder leak tester (04) | Cylinder leaktightness permissible loss total indication | |

If the crankshaft rotates: | |||
Install retaining lock for crankshaft. | |||
