Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.

 Only check cylinder leakage when the engine is at normal operating temperature.

Switch off the ignition and keep the transmitter key outside the transmitter range (at minimum   2m).

Remove spark plugs.



Remove fan unit.

Mount protective plate on cooler.



Remove cap of coolant expansion reservoir.

Take off oil filler cap.

Attach TDC detection device to the cylinder to be checked.

Turn engine in direction of engine rotation until the piston of the cylinder to be checked is at top dead center (TDC).

 The piston of the cylinder to be checked must be at ignition TDC.

Remove TDC detection device from cylinder to be checked.

Connect adapter (2) and pressure loss tester (1) to the cylinder to be checked.


Calibrate pressure loss tester (1) before using.
Measurement errors occur otherwise.

Check

Apply compressed air to the cylinder to be checked with and read off pressure loss at the pressure loss tester (1).

Determine loss of pressure at cylinder

Remove retaining lock.

Disconnect pressure loss tester (1).
