Remove

1

Remove the hydro-servo pneumatic cylinder. Check its conditions. If necessary, repair it or replace it.

Remove the gearbox.

Remove the clutch (3).

Due to the weight of the clutch, preferably remove it in parts.

Remove the sliding sleeve/ disconnecting bearing (6), of the clutch fork (11). To do so, remove the locks (10).



Check

Check the clutch press (3) for conditions.

In case of fissures, signs of overheating and/or wear of the friction surfaces, replace the clutch.

Check the conditions of the clutch disc (1 and 2), for wear, axial run-out, signs of overheating and fissures.

In the case of excessive axial run-out, overheating, fissures and/or friction surface wear, replace it.

Check the axial run-out of the clutch disc.

Minimum permissible thickness of the clutch disc.

Check the engine flywheel for conditions.

In the case of fissures and/or friction surface damages, machine it.

Check the ball bearing in the engine flywheel for conditions.

In the case of identifiable wear or inadequate running replace it.

Check the sliding sleeve/ disconnecting bearing for conditions (6).

In the case of identifiable wear or inadequate running replace it.

Do not wash the sliding sleeve/disconnecting bearing. Use only a rag with solvent for cleaning.

Check the operating smoothness of the clutch fork (11).

In the case of inadequate operation, remove the clutch fork and perform the required corrections.

Check the clutch actuation system fluid, for contamination.

In the case of contamination, conveniently flush the actuation system and change the fluid.

 Check also the conditions of the master cylinder. If necessary remove it and repair it:

Assembly of suspended pedals, with individual trestles.

Assembly of bus and platforms pedals.

Check the pneumatic system of clutch actuation.

In the case of contamination in the pneumatic part, by water, drain the reservoirs and check the drain valve for conditions. In the case of contamination of the pneumatic part, by engine oil, check the air compressor for conditions.

Lightly grease the splines of the clutch disc hub (1 and 2) and check the facility of its displacement over the input shaft.

The discs have to displace themselves easily over the input shaft, without presenting excessive play.

 Eliminate the excess grease (risk of contaminating the clutch lining).

Install the sliding sleeve/ disconnecting bearing. Fasten it on the clutch fork (11), through the locks (10).

Before installing, lightly lubricate the clutch fork (11), in the contact area with the sliding sleeve/bearing.

Pay attention to the correct locking of the sliding sleeve/disconnecting bearing (6), on the clutch fork assembly (11).

 Do not apply grease on the sliding sleeve. Besides unnecessary, such application will accumulate dirt.

Install the gearbox.

Install the hydro-servo pneumatic cylinder (13).

Set the clutch disc wear indicator.

In the case of vehicles fitted with wear indicator installed on the hydro-servo pneumatic cylinder.
