1 | Switch-off the master switch or detach the negative lead | Unscrew the negative lead bolt at the side rail, avoid removal at battery post terminals. | |
2 | Disconnect the electric wires (2) at the starter motor (1) | Installing: Observe the correct electric wires positioning on the starter motor. | |
3 | Remove the nuts (3) with their respective washers | Installing: Tighten the nuts to the specified torque. | |

4 | Remove the starter motor (1) | Check the starter for eventual wear, if necessary repair it. | |
Check the flywheel ring gear for eventual wear, if necessary replace it. | |||
Installing: Lubricate the starter pinion and the flywheel ring gear with long lasting grease. | |||
5 | Install in reverse order |
