Switch-off the master switch or detach the negative lead

Unscrew the negative lead bolt at the side rail, avoid removal at battery post terminals.

Disconnect the electric wires (2) at the starter motor (1)

Installing: Observe the correct electric wires positioning on the starter motor.

Remove the nuts (3) with their respective washers

Installing: Tighten the nuts to the specified torque.

Remove the starter motor (1)

Check the starter for eventual wear, if necessary repair it.

Check the flywheel ring gear for eventual wear, if necessary replace it.

Installing: Lubricate the starter pinion and the flywheel ring gear with long lasting grease.
