Grind | |||
| Check the need for and the possibility of grinding the crankshaft (1) | Check the crankshaft necks and determine the degree of repair to be ground. If the crankshaft shows cracks, replace it.
| Remove the crankshaft (1) gear (4) | If necessary, tap with a plastic hammer.
| Remove the screws (3) and counterweights (2) | Only if the crankshaft features screwed (false) counterweights. In order to ensure the original positioning, identify the counterweights and their respective positions on the crankshaft.
| Grind the primary necks of the crankshaft (1) | The diameter of all primary necks should correspond to the same repair degree. Note the matching between the repair degree of the primary neck diameter (A) and the width (C) of the adjustment neck (A) standard or standard I - (C) standard. (A) repair I or repair II - (C) repair I. (A) repair III or repair IV - (C) repair II.

| Wash the crankshaft (1) and remove any burrs and sharp edges from the lubrication holes | Use diesel oil or kerosene. Clean the holes using a cylindrical brush.
| Check the hardness of the primary and connecting rod necks, using an appropriate meter | Replace the crankshaft if the hardness is below than prescribed.
| Check the length (L) of the screws (3) securing the counterweights (2) | Only if the crankshaft features screwed (false) counterweights. Replace the screw (3) where the length (L) is greater than prescribed.
| Install the counterweights (2) and screws (3) on the crankshaft (1) | Only if the crankshaft features screwed (false) counterweights. Install in the correct order and position, note the identification made when removing. Slightly lubricate the thread and the seating face of the screws (3).
Counterweight fastening screws
| Perform the dynamic balancing of the crankshaft (1) | Crankshaft with counterweights and no flywheel.
| Install the crankshaft (1) gear (4). | Replace the dowel pin (5) on the gear.
| Install the crankshaft (1) | Install new sleeves matching the repair degree of the crankshaft necks. |
