	a digital tachograph

Introduction
The BVDR electronic tachograph is compatible with the pre-installation provided on the vehicle for the installation of the MTCO. Therefore for installation will only be required the addition of the wiring harness to the CAN line with the TP5.
Electronically the BVDR is also compatible with the vehicle, making the installation Plug & Play , not requiring additional configuration or parameterization work.
After the posterior installation of BVDR it should be calibrated and checked for proper functioning and legal purposes. In order to carry out this procedure, the vehicle must be sent to an homologated INMETRO station.
Electronic tachographs are recognized through the dedicated CAN network between INS-TCO making it possible to view it on the instruments panel through the on-board computer navigation.
The A 958 446 01 33 MB number refers to the MTCO tachograph. Completed the installation, the MB number corresponding to the BVDR will be A 958 446 04 33.

Ad-measurement

The tachograph has calibration parameters that are controlled metrologically by INMETRO such as:

Vehicle Chassis Number

Characteristic K factor

Vehicle plates

Speed limit excess

Date and current time

These parameters are subject to periodic inspection by competent authorities.

BVDR main screen

Service Information: Information on replacing the modular tachograph (MTCO) with
	a digital tachograph

This screen indicates all the main information of the Digital Tachograph as well as the screen which the driver of the vehicle will be most familiar with

1 Speed conditions

2 Date Programmed in the Digital Tachograph in dd/mm/yy format

3 Local time, in hh:mm format

4 Vehicle totalizator odometer

5 Vehicle status:

Resting/Stationary

In travel/Direction -

6 Driver code –Linked driver The driver's code will only be correctly identified after the previous registration. In case there is no driver linked / identified, the symbol “?????” will be shown on the screen and in the case of direction, an audible alarm will be activated. To deactivate it press "OK".
For the correct handling, configuration of the information and access to all the BVDR functionalities, refer to the User Instruction Manual , supplied with the equipment.

5

Change the electrical circuit for acquisition of CAN communication with the Telematics platform TP5

SI54.21-B-0038-01B

This operation is necessary because it allows the driver identification functionality to be enabled in the module TP5.

6

Finalize with the mounting of the covers

When checking for failures, remove the BVDR from its housing and mount the rear cover of the connectors supplied with the tachograph and seal using the A 000 542 17 90 seal.

Position the modules properly.

Secure the remaining wiring harness with plastic strap.

Reposition all covers.
