Operation (Vehicles 688.232/.254/.255)
The basic function performed by the components of this group (KO) of the brake system is to alert the vehicle's driver about any possible irregularity on the pneumatic pressure.
The double pressure gauge (11.02) informs the existing pressure on the pneumatic circuit, since the connections 41 and 42 are normally linked to the reservoirs (5.01).
The lamps (9.01), in turn, alert the driver about the:
9.01 (I)- low pressure on the pneumatic system.
9.01 (II)- application of the parking brake.
The lamps (9.01) are linked to the pressure shut-off devices (10.01) which remain with the open contact while the pneumatic pressure is above the threshold. When the pneumatic pressure drops below this value, the pressure shut-off device contact (10.01) closes and the lamps (9.01) are activated.
Operation (Vehicles 688.276)
The basic function performed by the components of this group (KO) of the brake system is to alert the vehicle's driver about any possible irregularity on the pneumatic pressure.
The double pressure gauge (11.02) informs the existing pressure on the pneumatic circuit, since the connections 41 and 42 are normally linked to the reservoirs (5.02).
The lamps (9.01), in turn, alert the driver about the:
9.01 (I)- application of the parking brake.
9.01 (II)-low pressure on the pneumatic system.
The lamp (9.01 (I)) is linked to the pressure shut-off device (10.01) indicating that the parking brake is still applied and it is not possible to move the vehicle.
The lamp(9.01 (II))is linked to pressure shut-off devices (10.01(I); (II) and (III)) which remain with their contacts opened while the pneumatic pressure is over the threshold; when the pneumatic pressure drops below this value, the pressure shut-off device contacts (10.01) close and the lamp(9.01 (II)is activated. The pressure shut-off devices (10.01) have the following functions:
10.01(I) - indicate low pneumatic pressure on the rear brake circuit.
10.01(II) - indicate low pneumatic pressure on the front brake circuit.
10.01 (III)- indicate low pressure on the pneumatic system.
