Task

Maintaining the preselected speed constant irrespective of the engine load, without the accelerator pedal being operated.

Operation

The cruise control function is integrated in the DFI control module (N3/8). It can be activated from >40 km/h with the cruise control switch (S40). It is actuated directly by the DFI control module (N3/8) to the fuel quantity actuator (Y23/3k1).

The cruise control mode is switched off by:

Operating the cruise control switch (S40)

operating the service brakes

Engaging selector lever position "N" (via ETS control module N15/3)

Note:

On vehicles fitted with electronic ignition switch (EIS) the cruise control signals are read into the EIS control module and relayed via the CAN databus to the engine control module. If the vehicle is not fitted with the electronic ignition switch (EIS), the cruise control signals are read in directly to the engine control module.
