Remove/install

Switch on ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)

Disconnect battery ground line

Remove screws/bolts (11) from pelvis airbag (13)

 Screw/bolt, pelvis airbag to backrest frame

Release and disconnect electrical connection (12)

 Removal lever

Release and disconnect electrical connector (R12/41) from driver pelvis airbag squib or (R12/42) front passenger pelvis airbag squib

Remove pelvis airbag (13)

 Installation:
Correctly insert retaining tabs (arrows).
Otherwise, the pelvis airbag (13) may not deploy correctly.

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system

When replacing the pelvis airbag (13).


