Remove/install

Move respective front seat to frontmost position.

Remove outer trim from front seat frame (1).

Disconnect seat occupancy recognition electrical plugs (2).

If seat cushion padding (9) on front passenger seat is to be removed.

Remove seat occupancy recognition electrical plugs (2) and retaining clips (3) from front seat frame (1).

If seat cushion padding (9) on front passenger seat is to be removed.

Unhook rubber retainers (4) of seat backrest cover (5) from front seat frame (1).

Detach Velcro strip (10) from seat cushion cover (8).

Remove stop plug (6) and release fabric trim (7) from inner trim.

 Installation: Check stop plug (6) for damage.

If there is a problem,



Replace stop plug (6).

Unhook seat cushion cover (8) from front seat frame (1) (arrows).

Unhook seat cushion cover (8) from holder (11) of front seat frame (1), pull seat cushion padding (9) with seat cushion cover (8) forward out of front seat frame (1) and remove.

 Installation: Make sure that the seat cushion padding (9) is correctly seated in the front seat frame (1).

Undo cushion clips (12) on seat cushion cover (8).


Carefully open cushion clips (12).
Otherwise, the seat cushion cover (8) or the seat cushion padding (9) may be damaged.

 Installation: Replace cushion clips (12).

Remove seat cushion cover (8) from seat cushion padding (9).

 Installation: Ensure that the seat cushion cover (8) is correctly seated on the seat cushion padding (9).

Carefully remove seat occupancy recognition (17) from seat cushion padding (9).

If seat cushion padding (9) on front passenger seat is to be removed.

Install in the reverse order.

Calibrate

Move front passenger seat to vertical and horizontal center position, then perform zero point adjustment.

If seat cushion padding (9) on front passenger seat was removed.



 Make sure that there are no objects on or under the front passenger seat.



Check

15

Perform function check on all electrical systems on the respective front seat.

 Scope of function test depends on equipment installed.
